Fianlly! The nicotiana I started from seed has finally grown and bloomed. I swear I thought it might never happen. I can’t seem to find N. sylvestris in any stores, so I am thrilled they are so happy in my garden and I hope they will happily reseed. A must for the moon garden, the pure white flowers perk up at dusk and let out a gorgeous perfume. As a bonus, my local hummingbird seems to like them too. I saw him/her hovering yesterday, dipping and drinking. Went to get my camera but I was too late. These babies are tall, 4′-5′.
In this picture you can see the teeny, tiny seeds that each little flower will produce. They are smaller than poppy seeds.
